Subject: James Robinson - racing updates.!

August 4th 2010

Hi everyone

Sorry the past two weeks have been very busy and not much time to jump on my laptop to send out a update to you all :)

I had my last race in Iceland on July 24th 2010 at a track called Solbrekka near to Iceland's famous "Blue Lagoon" The racing did not go so well for me in the first race I went from leading the race to drop back to 10th place! Myself was not feeling so good and was having many problems with arm pump also my bike was not setup for the track so for the last race "Atli & JoiKef" made some big changes to my bike which help me as I got the hole shot and was leading the race but about 8 laps into the race when I was feeling really good the back half of the frame on the bike snap in half so I had to pull out of the race! So my last race in Iceland did not go so well but the first two races I did in Iceland was great and I was happy with that.

After the last round in SolbrekkaIceland on July 27th I got on a flight back to Malaysia. As soon as I was back in Malaysia I was back into my training getting ready for a Mt bike race in Putrajaya, Malaysia. I was on a team made up of one rider from Australia and one German rider. Our team was sponsored by BMW with the new BMW Mt bikes which were so great to ride! Our team 'ROBO102.COM" got 7th out of 45 teams which was okay since we started in last place as our first rider was late to the start line as he was on the toilet :)

Now I am in Hong Kong getting ready to fly out to China tomorrow afternoon to race at the last round of their China Motocross Championships in a small place called "kwan Ming" I will be riding a 2010 Kawasaki 250f which is going to be good since that is the bike brand I race on in Asia. The race is on August 7th & 8th so I will update you all when I get near to a wifi cafe.

Thanks for all the support and everyone who is backing me! Huge thanks to everyone in Iceland at Nitro for all the support and everyone else who has help me in some way thanks again!

STEFAN EVERTS & SIDI SPORT

BUILDING CHAMPIONS WHO LAST FOREVER

Crossfire “special edition” for the Belgian Master

Maser (TV), July 29th, 2010 - Once a champion, always a champion! Such is the story of Stefan Everts, who’s become a living legend in motocross with 10 World Titles and 101 Grand Prix victories in his career. Although he’s retired from racing, Everts, who now manages Team KTM Red Bull Factory, continues to be a ringmaster in the circus that is motocross. He has always been able to count on Sidi Sport. His Sidi boots were with him in all his greatest victories on circuits all over the world. In these photos we can see Everts with his very own, inseparable Sidi Crossfire boots, number one for off-roading, produced in a special edition just for him by Sidi, with personalised graphics and emblazoned with the number 72, the date of his birth and also his lucky number.

Recently, Everts took part in the 5th edition of the “Everts & Friends” last July 21st on the Horensbergdam circuit in Genk, Belgium. It’s a spectacular show featuring the Belgian ace in action once again on his motorcycle, together with other stars from the international motocross.

At his side is his son Liam, ready to follow in his father’s footsteps… so it would seem that Sidi Crossfire boots are becoming a family tradition!

THE SIDI SPORT DEALERS MEETING

WITH STARS FROM THE  MOTO GP LORIS CAPIROSSI, ALVARO BAUTISTA

AND THE MOTOCROSS KING STEFAN EVERTS

Maser (TV), July 12, 2010 – Last week the Sidi Headquarters in Maser (Treviso) hosted its traditional annual meeting open to distributors of motorcycle products from the Sidi Sport collection. As always the meeting was attended by the most important dealers of the Sidi brand from Europe and other continents with Australia, Canada and U.S.A.

The new Sidi Sport collection was presented during the meeting, which is also an opportunity for professionals to meet and get caught up on new trends, and to consolidate human relations between Sidi staff and retailers. 2010 was a special edition, considering that this year Sidi Sport and the Signori family, founded by Dino Signori still actual head of the company, are celebrating the important milestone of 50 years in business.

Stefan Everts 10 times world MX Champion, with road racers Alvaro Bautista & Lois Capirossi with the Sidi family

On hand as special guests were Moto GP pilots Loris Capirossi, Alvaro Bautista and the motocross king Stefan Everts. One of Sidi’s brightest stars, throughout his extraordinarily brilliant career Everts has managed to capture 10 World Titles in motocross, perhaps an unattainable achievement  for any other pilot.. All the reps present therefore had the pleasure of being able to meet these two wheel champs up close and get to know them a little better.

Attached is a photo of the 50 year commemoration with Dino Signori and his children Daniele and Rosella, photos of the meeting in progress, and of the pilots with Daniele and Rosella Signori and the great Stefan Everts.

03-07-2010

Hi everyone

Sunday night here in Iceland and I'm back at the house relaxing after Saturday's racing. Saturday morning I went to Akranes motocross track about 30mins from Reykjavik town with Atli who has been taking me around to the races while I have been here.

We had our warm up also lap timing for start pick, I got 4th fastest lap time which I was okay with as I was still breaking into the track and finding better lines each lap.

Moto one

I got a good jump out of the start gate coming out of the first turn in 2nd place close behind Aron. Me and Aron stayed close for about half of the race until I went to try make an out side pass on him but I made a mistake and went off the track which drop me back to 3rd place.

I tryed to get back into the rhythm but keep making to many mistakes which I lost lots of time and ended up burning myself out, I also got together with another rider and broke my radiator but lucky enough the race was about to finish so the bike to not over heat so i ended up 3rd.

Moto two:

A friend of mine "Gatli" gave me his bike to use for the last race as mine was broken and did not have time to fix. I only had a short time to setup the bike but thanks to Atli and Gatli they help me get everything ready so I could make it to the start line.

I got a bad jump out of the gate and then me and another rider clip bars coming into the turn, lucky he went down and not myself. I was able to pull myself together and get up into 3rd place but then once again I made more mistakes and drop back to 4th. I need to get 2nd place to get 2nd over all so I try to focus more and ride smooth then I started to work my way up into 2nd place. As the race went on I felt better and better, it came down to the last lap and corner and yes I did it, I made 2nd place which put me 2nd overall.!

I was very happy with how the weekend ended up, it was hard racing and Iceland motocross is good. A huge thanks to Nitro, N1, Kawasaki, Atli and Gatli for all there help and support if it was not for them I would not be in Iceland.

This week I will be keeping up with my training and riding also coaching groups of riders around Iceland, then I will have another race on Saturday 10th July.

Once again thanks for all the support from everyone and my sponsors, your the best!

Kind regards

TONY CAIROLI IS BACK ON A WINNING STREAK AND LEADING THE STANDINGS

Maser (TV), July 5th, 2010 - Antonio Cairoli has got back to winning and is flying in the overall standings in the MX1 World Championship with a 67 point advantage over his nearest rival Clement Desalle. It was a test of pride and power for the Sidi Sport champion after a three run dry spell in June. On Sunday, July 4th, he won the Swedish Gran Prix riding his KTM motorcycle in the MX1 class. Tony Cairoli enjoyed a double on the spectacular circuit at Uddevalla. In race1 the pilot from Messina came in ahead of Belgians Desalle and Ramon and in race2 he was again ahead of Desalle and Philippaerts.

“In the last races - explains Cairoli - I was racing carefully, using my head and trying to manage my advantage in the standings and gain precious points for the World Cup. Today, however, I wanted to race my way, more aggressively. I had fun, I wanted to go back to winning and I did so.”

PALMER MAKES IT THREE IN A ROW

JULY 5, 2010: It wasn’t an easy weekend’s racing for national All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) champion Quentin Palmer but the quad bike hero did enough to get the job done at the New Zealand TT Championships near Kuratau.

He won all three open class ATV races on Saturday but nearly lost his lead on day two when a failing steering dampener saw him struggle to hold on to his 450cc quad bike and he struggled to finish second and third on Sunday as Amberley’s Ian Ffitch took advantage and won both the races.

A couple of lacklustre results on Saturday, however, proved costly for Ffitch and he had to settle for third overall in the championship, behind Palmer and Rotorua’s Jason Jepson.

“I enjoyed my battle with Ffitchy today,” Palmer said as the dirt settled on Sunday afternoon. “I cocked up the starts and just couldn’t peg him back.”

Palmer also won the ATV open class TT title in 2008 and 2009.

Meanwhile, the bikes section was dominated by Hawera's Brad Groombridge, who won both the open class and the 250cc class as well.

The 19-year-old Groombridge was challenged early on in the open class races by 45-year-old veteran Mitch Rowe, of New Plymouth, but he eventually romped away with an unbeaten string of five wins.

It was closer action in the 250cc class with an impressive Cam Dillon, of Taupo, coming very close to snatching the 250cc crown from Groombridge.

Rotorua’s Scott Canham, Otago’s Courtney Duncan and Taupo’s Cohen Chase were the best of the juniors.

Leading final standings from the New Zealand TT Championships near Kuratau at the weekend:

Quads:

ATV open class: 1. Quentin Palmer (Taumarunui) 117 points; 2. Jason Jepson (Rotorua) 104; 3. Ian Ffitch (Amberley) 102.

ATV 40-plus 0-700cc: 1. Ronnie De Wys (Oparau) 119 points; 2. Vaughan Adams (Puriri) 114; 3. Grahame Strong (Napier) 97.

ATV juniors: 1. Brett Wilson (Owhango) 107 points; 2. Daniel Bell (Auckland) 106; 3. Andrew Vincent (Auckland) 100.

Motorcycles:

Senior open class bikes: 1. Brad Groombridge (Hawera) 125 points; 2. Mitch Rowe (New Plymouth) 106; 3. Jesse Donnelly (Paraparaumu) 95.

Senior 201-250cc two-stroke & 250cc four-stroke: 1. Brad Groombridge (Hawera) 112 points; 2. Cam Dillon (Taupo) 110; 3. Mason Wilkie (Masterton) 107.

Senior under-200cc two-stroke: 1. James Ainsworth (Auckland) 117 points; 2. Ryan Thompson (Te Awamutu) 116; 3. Callum Moore (Featherston) 102.

Subject: James Robinson - Iceland & Lex Games update!

 Hi everyone!

So now I am in Iceland the now so famous place for the volcano that burst and was on the news all across the world.

I got into Iceland on July 21st and as soon as I got here the first thing i could see was it is day light 24 hours 7 days a week! So can go riding when ever you want and do my training. As soon as I was in Iceland I went and got a bike from Nitro who are so great for giving me a good deal and support while I am here with a Kawasaki 450f which is the same bike I ride back in Malaysia.

I spent the rest of the week getting setup and ready for the coming weekend event the "Lex Games" which was held at Bolarda about 15mins out of Reykjavik. Saturday I had one motocross race and a freestyle event. First up was the motocross and it started off with a big bang with me and top rider Gulli #111 going bar to bar in the first turn but as we hit the first jump he went off the track and went down which left the door open for me to make a run away with the lead for the first half of the race, but as the race went on I started to make many mistakes and also alittle tired so another one of the top riders "Aron #66" was able to catch me and make the pass on me which drop me back into 2nd place and that is where I end up over all in the race.

Straight after the race I had a 10min break and then went over to the freestyle event where they had a ramp with about a 80ft gap jump. I went out and did my show and  put in a nice run with some tricks and some huge whips to get me a 2nd place overall in that event.

I was very happy with my weekend, I could of done better in the motocross but it will take time to get use to the tracks here and also the cold. I have a week till my next race here again in Iceland so I will be spending the week doing my training and putting in lots of time on my bike.

I will update you after next weekends race event, I have attach some photos.

Thanks to everyone for all the support and also my sponsors!

Kind regards

18th May 10. Another note from Ben Townley

Yesterday I raced the 4 Stroke National at Glen Helen, it was a good chance for me to get in a race simulation in before next weekend. They we're running the same layout that will be in for the USGP in a couple of weeks.  I liked the layout and it has a  couple of new sections in it and a new big double step up which is pretty stupid.

First moto I got a decent jump - it was a concrete start so I was looking for just a decent start and I ended up getting the hole-shot!  I found my groove quite fast and tried to settle in.  I laid down good consistent lap times for most of the moto and got out to a 20 sec lead until I had to pull in after I got a flat tyre. My mechanic Clint changed the rear wheel and I got back to it for the last few laps.

Moto two I didn't quite get the start.  I was third after turn one and quickly got into the lead after turn two. Once I got in the lead I tried to put in some hot laps and get away, at about the 25 min mark I backed it down after making a couple of mistakes.

It was a really good day. We learned a few things and I was really happy to get behind a gate again and do some racing.

I've got a few days testing before we head up to Hangtown, I'll check in next week.

17th May, 2010 a note from Ben Townley.

I'm just checking in on my way out the door. I'm back in America now, have been for the past 2 weeks riding and testing. I spent my first week testing in California with my mechanic Clint and my team, going through chassis set up and getting me dialed in for the season. We had our time line slashed way to short after I had my little mishap back home in NZ, but we made really good progress and found a really good set up. I'm headed back to Cali today for a warm up race at Glen Helen, it will give me a good chance to shake down the set up we finished up with and give me some valuable gate time before I line up next weekend in Hangtown.

I spent this past week doing moto's back here in Florida, I feel great on the bike, conditioning wise I lost a lot with the 6 weeks that I had to stand down so I'll be working my way back into shape as this championship kicks off. It feel's awesome to know that the season is right around the corner now, it's been a really really long time coming for me and I'm excited to prep my gate in 14 days time from now it's going to be an interesting series...

I'll try check in after this weekend with an update on how the race at Glen Helen goes. For now check out the pic's from when I was out in Cali testing that Hoss Sharifi got off me at Pala Raceway where the final National is going to be held.

THE SIDI STARS: CROSS, SUPERBIKE AND SUPERSPORT

Cairoli & Nagl off road and Crutchlow, Sofuoglu and Pirro on track

Maser (TV), May 10th, 2010 - Sidi Sport had another great weekend as a major player in the world of motor sports. We start with motocross, specifically from the dirt circuit in Agueda where Antonio Cairoli (Team Ktm), fifth in race1 and first in race2, reinforced his lead in the World MX1 standings by taking second place in the Portuguese Gran Prix. Third step of the podium for the German Max Nagl (Team Ktm).

Moving from off road to the track, Sidi continues on its positive roll. Even if they narrowly missed victory, Sidi pilots enjoyed brilliant results that were an encouraging sign for the rest of the season. The Italian Gran Prix in Superbike took place on Sunday in Italy, on the spectacular track in Monza. After quite a difficult start of the season, Cal Crutchlow (Yamaha Sterilgarda) made it to the podium with a beautifully fought third place in race1 behind Biaggi and Toseland. In race2, only a fall caused by an oil slick with a few laps to go to the finish line could take out Crutchlow, who was the only pilot on the track riding close in the wake of Italian champion Max Biaggi.

Also on the circuit in Monza, Sidi pilots made their mark in the Supersport class with Turkey’s Kenan Sofuoglu (Team Ten Kate Honda) starting from pole position and coming in second over the finish line, putting him in second place in the overall standings. Italian Michele Pirro (Team Ten Kate Honda) had an excellent fourth place. Before heading to Monza Pirro made a stop at Sidi’s headquarters in Maser (TV) to put the finishing touches on his Sidi Vortice boots. This welcome visit seems to have brought him good luck!

Attached photos of Cairoli in Portugal, Chrutchlow and Sofuoglu in action on the Monza circuit; and Michele Pirro visiting Sidi Sport headquarters with Sidi Vortice 50, the special edition boots developed by Dino Signori for the 50th anniversary of Sidi Sport (1960 – 2010).

Everything has been busy the past month with running my ROBO-MX coaching schools around parts of Malaysia, the coaching is going really well and the riders are doing great. I have one rider in Port Dickson who is 8 years old that looks like he is going to be racing very soon.

24-04-2010 - I had a race in Malaysia, Dusun which was held part of some elections that was going on in Malaysia.

The event was lots of fun and the track was good as it had a mix of sand and dirt with some nice jumps to put on a great show for all the people that came out to see the racing. I won the Open class on my sponsord Chear Motor, KXf450 Kawasaki.

My next event is going to be in two weeks in Thailand, Trang on 09-05-2010 and then in Malaysia, Putrajaya on 16-05-2010.
